WESTMORLAND MP Tim Farron has promised to visit the site of a proposed windfarm causing controversy in a South Lakes beauty spot.
He made the pledge when he met opponents to plans by development company.
Energia in Natura to build six 125-metre-high turbines on a ridge near Cartmel between Stribers and Ellerside outside Cartmel Post Office on August 28 on his summer tour.
Malcolm Leadbetter, chairman of campaign group Stop Turbines on Peninsula, gave and information pack to Mr Farron, who agreed to a site meeting to become more familiar with the location of the turbines.
More than 200 people attended a public meeting arranged by STOP on August 4 in Cartmel.
