Although Barrow have a plethora of half backs I think Holt should be retained for his vast experience and his kicking game which the others at present lack. It is down to a suitable contract being agreed by both parties, I think this could be a stumbling block!

However for Barrow to do well in NL1 they need forwards, big mobile forwards and lots of them, other wise I think Barrow will struggle at this level. Forwards lay the platform to win matches and I think it will be a long season without recruiting enough especially if injuries occur early on.

However they don't grow on trees and don't come cheap and they take some persuading to come to Barrow, I do not for one minute envy the board and coaching staff, it could be a long hard difficult season without the forwards to enable the team to compete.

Time to finish i think for holty and get a new half back in,he couldnt cut it national league one when he played for whitehaven so he wont be able to do it 5 years on for barrow,i cant beleive they have axed dave armistead for next season you need to keep your best players not just get rid of them when your gonna need them most,bad move clarky
